The first step towards starting your preparation is to clear your
concepts.
If your concepts are not clear you
cannot solve the practice exercises or the mock cats and this can
seriously affect your score and ultimately your chances of getting admission in
your dream school.
A strong background of fundamentals is important not only just for
the CAT exam but also for all competitive exams and especially very
useful in the workplace.
Since it is the most important step, I have put in extra time and
effort to select the best possible explanations in simple and easy language. The
advantage of this guide is that you will get at least 3 different
explanations of the same topic by various authors. This is done because in
case you don't understand a particular topic from concept
1 you can refer to concept 2 and if you still don't understand
you can refer to concept 3 and so on. This will guarantee that you understand
the concept thoroughly because you have more than 1 type of
explanation of each and every topic.
I have divided
and subdivided all the topics to simplify the syllabus.

- consisting of 3 different explanations of data interpretation and data sufficiency concepts

- consisting of 2 different explanations of geometry concepts
- § Grammar- consisting of 3 different explanations of grammar concepts, list of abbreviations, synonyms etc.
- § Grammar topic wise concepts-
- topics are divided and explained individually. Topics covered are- idioms, noun, pronoun, verb, indirect speech, word substitution, abbreviations, colon, hyphen, syllogism, pronoun, semi colon rules, figure of speech etc.
- § Grammar word list-
- consists of 5 word lists.
- § RC concepts-
- consisting of 7 different explanations of reading

- § SC concepts - consisting of 6 different explanations of SC concepts.
